LIVE IN MATM
DECEMBER 2014 IN MUNICH, ZURICH & VIENNA
What a sweet surprise: Owen Pallett back in Munich & The Mountains! It’s been 2 years he played a beautiful set looping violin lines, singing, playing and stomping his pedals at Munich’s Kammerspiele. This December he returns with his new album „In Conflict“.
“The record is meant to approach ‘insanity’ in a positive way,” Owen says— emphasis on the ironizing scare quotes around singular notions of insanity. “Depression, addiction, gender trouble, and the creative state are presented as positive, loveable, empathetic ways of being. Not preferable, per se, but all as equal, valid positions that we experience, which make us human.”
With his signature instincts for crafting brilliant pop songs, the songs are reduced to the essential, yet unbelievably lush, filled with melancholy and then again with humor, revealing his humble and passionate personality between the lines.
Pallett – the collaborator, the perfectionist, the genuis: Composing music for popular theatres, balletts and movies (Spike Jonze’s Her); contributing arrangements to the records of Pet Shop Boys, R.E.M., Robbie Williams, and The National; curating festivals like last year’s ‚Heartland‘ on Lake Geneva, touring with Arcade Fire, Pallett’s talent is in high demand as he tours around the world like a whirlwind.
He and his band will be in the Alps for 3 shows only so make sure you catch him here:
