LIVE IN MATM 2014 IN MUNICH UND VIENNA
BRNS is „Brains“ written out. That is the official explanation of the four Belgian musicians. A bit of a pity, as “burns” like burning or burnings would be more appropriate for their thundering drums and beastly-nice melodies, breaks and bridges. Not to forget: the extramundane vocals of singing drummer Tim Clijsters.
Of course, „Brains“ is not a bad association either. The band manages to reinvent the half-dead genre indie rock. Strength, rock, pop and post-rock stir the angry heart.
They seem to have a plan of their own. BRNS are currently on their first solo tour in the German speaking area with their EP “Wounded”. Wounded was released two years ago. No longer does this seem to be an insider tip – they have played the best festivals from Paleo, Appletree Garden to Reeperbahn.
BRNS will play at the Ampère in Munich on May 25th and at the Vienna short film festival on May 26th, passing through the Alps like a whirlwind. Two chances to see this intelligent rock experience live.
Those doubting this tip, should listen to “Wounded” on Bandcamp or watch their videos on Youtube – BRNS playing at a short film festival is certainly not wrong. The gripping video of “Our Lights” focus on Clijsters Fingers and Mouth and the crazy run away soundtrack “Mexico” shows you how South America can be brought to Belgium.
